A fun bike ride

Saturday was a lovely day. We went out to the Silver Creek Nature Preserve outside of Mascoutah. They have a picnic area and also a walk/bike trail that goes throughout the fields and into the woods. The girls absolutely loved getting to ride their bikes. They did great, except for a few minor crashes, but every time they bit it they assured me they were okay and got right back on their bikes! After the bike ride we had a picnic lunch, then went around the trail again. After that, you'd think they would be exhausted, but nope - we then went to the park - one of their favorite hot spots!

Fast Weekend

Weekends just go by too darn fast, before you know it - Monday's here already. Saturday we had a surprise 30th party for my friend Christa (pictures to come soon) and then Sunday we had a BBQ at our house with the Queener Family. The girls had a blast playing with Hannah and Sophia. All 4 girls played great together!

Little Ms. Sophia had a great time playing dress up with the "big" girls!

Family GNO

Last night, I had my monthly family Girls Night Out. Every month we go to a different restaurant either in Illinois or Missouri. This month we decided to go to Roemer Topf. Yes...I was just there last week, but I'm tellin ya, this place is GOOD! Here is a picture from our wonderful evening together.

Washer's Anyone?

Saturday we had our Club Cross Washer Tournament. We had an absolute BLAST! You had an individual score and competed with everyone there, then at the end you joined your spouses score with yours to see who the "Most Valuable Couple" was. Guess Who?!?! YEP! Bob and I won! WOO HOO! Bob: 199, Angie: 186 - not too shabby! After the tournament we headed up to the Juicy Peanut to watch Michael Phelps win his 8th Gold.

Sunday BBQ

Sunday we had a BBQ with the Weier's and the Walter's as Cami so smartly put it. She is very interested these days in putting together peoples last names and why mine is Walter and Mama, Papa and Aunt Nicole's is Weier. Ahh, how their little minds work.
Here is a picture of all the girls at the "kid" table, which Sydney was very upset about. She didn't like the fact that she had to sit at the kid table and not at the adult table. I told her that's how it always is for kids - we all at one time or another had to sit at the "kid" table. It's the facts of life!
Notice how Ellie is getting ready to take advantage of Jamison getting distracted from her chip....

Ellie Update: Bob had to take Ellie to the doctor today, she busted a stitch from her spade surgery on Thursday. We just can't keep her down, she's so active. So, we had to figure out a way for her not to bother the incision - Bob thought about a cone for her head, but then I said what about a newborn outfit? While I was at my MMOM meeting, Bob found Ellie a new outfit... check it out. He even cut a hole out for the tail! Apparently he first tried a pair of the girls underwear, but that didn't work out so well. He had Cami and Syd cracking up though! :-)
This onesie looked cute on the girls AND looks cute on Ellie!

Caught on Tape

2 posts in 1 day.... Wow, doesn't get much better than that! I finally got pictures of the 2 fox that have been roaming our neighborhood for the past month or more. They are really cute, but they also have been getting in our trash and scaring the kids around the neighborhood. They were even featured in the Mascoutah Herald last week! They're famous!

Joshua's 3rd Birthday Party

Friday night we celebrated with Joshua at his 3rd Birthday party! It was a pool party! The girls had a blast swimming, the only brave adult to go out there with the kids was Uncle Doug!

Happy Birthday Ms. Tia!

Happy Birthday to Ms. Tia today! We had a very lovely dinner with her and her family at Roemer Topf in Mascoutah this evening. The food was delicious!!!! Thank you to Ms. Tia for being a wonderful, loving care giver to our girls. They are little geniuses because of you! We love you!

Go Daddy Go!

The girls and I went up to Bob's softball game last night. The girls just love watching their daddy. They cheered for him every time he was up to bat, covering third base or in the dugout - didn't matter - they cheered him on. I think Bob might have even been getting a little embarrassed by all the cheering.... BOBBY! BOBBY! BOBBY!
Getting ready.....
bring it, bring it..... Comin' on home...

Hot Tubing

Sunday evening my parents had us and the Morra family over for dinner. Of course, the kids had to get into the hot tub since my dad didn't have the horse trough out - dad sets the temp low when the girls come over so it actually feels like a bath tub. The trough was our "pool" growing up. It is actually the perfect size for a raft, so it wasn't sooo bad... just the fact that dad called that our "pool" made it worse than it actually was.

Mascoutah Homecoming

The Good Ol' Mascoutah Homecoming was this weekend. Our church had a float in the parade, so Saturday night our whole family including mom, dad and Nicole walked/rode in the parade and handed out candy and pencils. The girls sang along to VBS songs they had learned the week before. We all had a great time.
While waiting for the parade to start we also saw Kylie. She was walking with her Grandma Kris and Mr. Video!
Back at the Homecoming we met up with Joe, Tia, Kirstie and their neice Alex. All of the girls had a blast riding all the rides! The Spaceships were one of the girls favorite rides.

BEEP! BEEP! All of the girls on the Carousel.Cami going for a ride on a Motorcycle. Syd was close on her tail. The girls ended the night with a (messy) snow cone.
In true Mascoutah fashion, we also went back to the picnic on Sunday after the parade for dinner and a few more rides. If you are from Mascoutah, the homecoming is like another holiday.

I hope you all had a nice weekend and have a great week ahead.
