Prayer for a friend

My friend Jessica found out Sunday morning that her Grandfather decided to take his own life while her Grandmother was at church. I ask that you all might say a little prayer for her. It’s hard trying to find the answers as to why things like this happen and how the man she looked up to and loved could do this to her and her family. She traveled to Wisconsin yesterday to be with her loved ones. Her husband, Derek, is TDY in Afghanistan until mid September.

Weekend Road Trip

We went on a road trip to Kentucky this weekend for my cousin Jill's wedding. The girls got to pig out on chips and candy there and back - they were in heaven!

We had a wonderful time visiting with all of our out of town family.

At the reception there was a Mariachi Band. I have never been to a wedding reception with a Mariachi Band, so I was very excited! They were fantastic!

Sunday morning we ate breakfast, then headed over to Uncle Bob and Aunt Sue's to visit with everyone before heading back to Illinois.

Club Cross

We are very blessed to be a part of a young couples group at our church. I have been a coordinator for the group for a couple of years now. We've created lots of strong friendships through this group and are thankful every day to have such a loving church family.

Vacation Bible School

Last week the girls participated in Vacation Bible School at our church. They had an absolute blast. It was from 6-8 every night and the theme was Friendship Trek. They will be singing the songs they learned during VBS on our church float in the Mascoutah Homecoming Parades on August 2nd and 3rd.

The VBS kids also sang in church on Sunday - Cami sang her heart out -and- it was microphoned. You could hear her sing "Jesus Loves Me" above all the other kids. It was super cute.

Pool Party!

On Sunday the Bretz family had several couples from our church over for dinner and a pool party. We had such a great time - the girls LOVE to swim! They were in the pool non-stop.

I'm sure all the kids slept great that night!

New do's

Cami and Syd had haircut appointments today after I got off work. Cami wanted to get her hair cut short - but - not as short as mine (specifically said by her)! Syd said that she only wanted a trim. So we got there and Cami decided she wanted it cut to her shoulders. Once Syd saw Cami's hair - she too wanted it cut to her shoulders.

Both of the girls got 6 inches cut off! Unbelievable!

Fishing with Papa

Sydney must have just had a little stomach bug, she woke up this morning and felt good as new again!

Tonight Papa took the girls fishing. They love, love, love going fishing with their Papa. They definitely aren't scared to get their own worm, matter of fact - they love it.

They first bait the hooks on their Princess poles from Aunt Nicole and Ryan.

Then.. they wait....

And finally... SUCCESS! First Syd snagged one.

Chrysler Commercial

Saturday Bob and the girls washed my van. Cami loves washing cars with her dad, Syd.. not so much. The moment she gets wet - she's done. Which is why I didn't get any pictures of Syd helping, I wasn't out there right when he started and it didn't take her long to get wet! Cami loves dusting, folding laundry, sweeping and helping me clean around the house - she definitely takes after her mommy - I'm SO proud! :-)

Brent Bergheger drove by while they were out washing my van and he said it should be a Chrysler commercial! Daddy and his girls. I'm pretty sure in the 3rd picture Bob was about ready to get blasted with the water hose! Fun Times!

I'm home with the girls today. I took them to Tia's this morning and she called me an hour later - Syd was puking. It's been on and off today too. Uh Oh. I hope something isn't being passed around Vacation Bible School!!!!

Weiner Mobile

On the way down to Florida for our vacation, we stopped in Alabama - our 1/2 way point. The Oscar Mayer Weiner Ambassador happened to be staying at the same hotel! She also drives the Oscar Mayer Weiner Mobile!!! The girls got a total kick out this car shapped like a hot dog!

Weekend Fun

This weekend has just flown by. Saturday, Bob and I went to dinner at PJ Changs with Tia and Joe - yum, yum. Love that place! Then today was my MetroEast Mothers of Multiples picnic. This year it was at Scheve park in Mascoutah, so it worked out perfectly being so close! We had the picnic, then headed over to the pool for some big time fun. Unfortunately, I didn't bring my camera (I know.. what was I thinking?!?!?). Tonight we went over to my parents house for dinner and hot tubbing "swimming" in my parents new hot tub. The girls have a ball in it.

On another note, since I don't have any pictures to share from today...

A couple of weeks ago I had the pleasure of watching the Morra boys while Amy and Dan went to their sign language class. The girls just love the boys and they play so well together. We ended the evening with our traditional popcorn party when the boys come over - except for Luke - he got puffs. I wasn't sure if he could have popcorn yet and I didn't want to break any rules - but boy.. he sure eyed up the popcorn!

The girls have VBS this week at our church, so another busy week ahead! BUT, daddy's home this week, so all is good in our world! I hope you all have a great week!

Dinners with Family and Friends

We've had a very active 2 days. Thursday night, the Love's came over and brought us dinner! Justin and Bob had a football bet, the loser had to buy Popeye's chicken! So, actually - all of us were winners! Here are a few pics from our evening.

Then, on Friday night we met up with some friends from church. We went to Papa Vito's for dinner, then to the park in Shiloh. We ended the evening with a Tropical Snow back in Mascoutah - it doesn't get much better than that! It was a lovely evening spent with great friends.
